STEP 1. Choose an image from Larry Kanfer’s collections.

This is the hardest part. There are two ways to look through Larry Kanfer images: browse the collections or search.

From our online collections, you can browse through Prairiecapes, Cityscapes, Woodlands, Coast-to-Coast, International and University of Illinois portfolios. When you see an image you like, you can click on it to see it larger. You can also use our image search tool and enter a keyword into our search field (try colors, seasons, locations, subjects such as barn, tree, bridge, closeup etc.). Once you have selected the images you’d like to purchase, click on them and you will see pull down menus for size and finish (Steps 2 and 3).

STEP 2. Select a size.

Because Larry prints each image himself, we are able to offer a wide range of sizes! Our sizes refer to the size of the original Larry Kanfer photograph. Often the finished sizes are different because we prepare the finished artwork with a four inch mat around the photograph. The size information will be in a pull down menu below the image along with the finish (step 3) and price information. Our standard sizes range from 11”x14” through 30”x40”. Sometimes sizes will be slightly different, e.g. 20x20 instead of 20x24 because the image is square. Standard sizes and prices are listed in the chart below. Please contact us for larger or custom-sized work. There is almost no limit to the size of the piece we can prepare for you.

STEP 3. Decide which finish you would like.

There are four main finish options for Larry Kanfer artwork: unframed, framed, canvas and the new contemporary Infused Aluminum. The finish options will be displayed in the pull down menu below the larger images along with size information (step 2) and price information. Please note other custom finishes are available, such as rag watercolor paper, acrylic, face-mounting, etc. We enjoy working on custom projects, so just contact us.

-Unframed Photograph

All photographs are prepared by the artist on premium photo luster paper using museum quality pigments. Your unframed photograph will be dry mounted on archival matboard, signed and titled by the artist, ready to mat and frame. 30x40” pieces will ship unmounted. This standard pricing applies to open edition photographs.

-Framed Photograph

We custom mat and frame each piece using museum-quality archival white matboard with several framing options. The our standard black aluminum frame is stylishly thin with an enameled finish for a modern, sleek feel.  Please contact us for any other framing options, for availability and pricingl. We build each frame by hand in the gallery and guarantee our craftsmanship. Our framed photograph pricing includes original Larry Kanfer photograph, mat and frame.

-Stretched Canvas

Each piece is prepared by the artist on exhibition-quality canvas using archival pigmented inks, and stretched on bars about 1.5 inches thick, for a dimensional, contemporary look. For extra protection, we coat each canvas with a UV-protectant. Each image is signed and titled by the artist. Canvases are gallery-wrapped.

- Infused Aluminum

Each piece is prepared, signed and finished by the artist using and original photograph infused into an aluminum panel with a high gloss finish. Each piece is UV protected and has a back mount for easy hanging. 

Pricing, Shipping and other Details.

How to read the chart:

An 11x14” original photograph, drymounted on matboard is $155.  (Including the matboard in the final dimensions, it measures 16x20”.) The photograph, matted and framed to 16x20” with a classic black metal frame is a total of $225.

A 16x20” original photograph is $285 drymounted on matboard.  A 16x20”, matted and framed to 24x28” with a classic black metal frame, is a total of $375.

Each image is a custom piece prepared for you by the artist. Please allow 2-4 weeks on artwork orders. If you need your artwork by a specific date, please call 217-369-1733 or email gallery@kanfer.com.  The Larry Kanfer Gallery insures all shipped items and guarantees their safety. Any items damaged or lost in shipping will be replaced free of charge.
